I met Mary last week in Melville on my way to work from the Vet, and was thrilled to see her skirt, as she had constructed a concept I had wondered about recently - whether it would be possible to mix different pre cut panels on the same skirt, and what the result would look like. (I even wondered if it would be possible to do something completely cheesy,  such as assembling the big 5 in various panels)

Mary made this skirt herself, and I can only think that she must have been making skirts for a while, and collecting the panels, or that she has a vast knowledge of shops that stock  shweshwe fabric, because many of the wonderful patterns I have not seen before.

I love the panel with the pot plants, and the peacock, because they are most unusual.  I also like the way the strong tiger print on the  leopard panel stands out from the other patterns.
