The Soweto Gospel Choir , who are perhaps the best international ambassadors for shwe shwe have done it again and won their Second Grammy for thier album African Spirit.
I would love to meet the seemtrsses who sew all the outfits for the choir as they always have such beautiful, vivid outfits, and I can only think that sewing all these garments must be tremendous fun.

Earlier this week the Soweto Gospel Choir won an international for their second album 'Blessed'. The choir scooped the Best Traditional World Music Award at the 49th Grammy Awards Ceremony .
Like most South Africans I only got to hear about them a year after they were loved and famous in the rest of the world. This is partly due to their full touring schedule and the fact that they only debuted with Voices from Heaven concert in South African, after a return to South African following three years of touring.
To hear them is a moving experience - to see them singing in their shwe shwe costumes even more so.
Soweto Gospel Choir was formed to celebrate the unique and inspirational power of African Gospel music.
The 26-strong choir, under the direction of David Mulovhedzi and Beverly Bryer, draws on the best talent from the many churches in and around Soweto.
The choir is dedicated to sharing the joy of faith through music with audiences around the world.
*The Wikipedia explanation for Ululation doesn't quite match out South African chorus of joy. Here is more a combination of a Japanese shout of Bonsai, Mazeltov, and several Hip hip hoorays all rolled into one.
